  • Does dry cleaning shorten the life of a garment?

    When a garment is cleaned in water, the yarns swell causing the clothing to receive more agitation in the washing process. In dry cleaning this dynamic does not occur, therefore prolonging the life of your garment.

  • What causes a ‘puckering’ and excess fabric in shirt collars and cuffs?

    Occasionally, manufactures do not select an interfacing that is compatible with the fabric on the shirt. Therefore, shrinkage occurs causing a ‘puckering’ effect.

    Weather is unpredictable however; our Valet Drivers will never intentionally leave any garments in the rain.

  • What if I am on vacation?

    Service can be temporarily suspended by setting a vacation date range from your online account. You can also email the Route Concierge to set the vacation dates.

  • Do I have to fill out any information on my garments when I leave them out?

    It is not required to complete any time of forms for your garments.

  • Can I still use coupons? Where do I put them?

    Coupons are still accepted while using pickup and delivery service. Coupons should be securely placed inside of your personal laundry bag(s).

  • What areas do you service?

  • What if I have household items that do not fit in my bag?

    You can use any disposable bag to hold the household items. Temporary Bag ID Tags can be printed from your online account.

Apartment/Office Pickup & Delivery

  • How do I pay?

    The most seamless way to pay at MW Cleaners is by adding your Credit Card On File, online through MW Cleaners Customer Connect, or in the future through the MW Cleaners mobile app (available on iOS or android). Once you add your Credit Card On File we simply charge you upon delivery.

    At this point, we only accept payment via credit card.

  • What can I expect to happen on my first pickup?

    MW Cleaners arrives.

    Our highly trained Valet arrives between 8am - 6pm.  (In the future MW Cleaners will provide tighter time window scheduling).

  • Will you remind me that you are coming by?

    Yes! You can expect an email confirmation the moment you sign up and schedule your first pickup.

  • Will you bring me my own personal MW Cleaners laundry bags?

    Yes! We use a couple different bags to identify our different services. Our Valet will provide an MW Cleaners Black Tie Bag for Dry Cleaning/Launder & Press and/or a MW Wash -Wash & Fold bag upon delivery of your first order.  Below is a quick summary of what goes in each bag:

    MW Wash Bag - garments in this bag will be laundered in cold water, dried on medium heat, and returned folded.

    MW Cleaners Black Tie Bag - garments in this bag will be dry cleaned or laundered and pressed, depending on the care label. They will also be professionally pressed and returned on a hanger.

  • Should I separate my dry cleaning/laundry and wash/dry/fold?

    Yes, we ask that you separate your Wash & Fold from your Dry Cleaning/Launder & Press items. There is an easy rule of thumb for how to best separate your laundry:

    Anything you would like returned pressed and on hangers should be placed in the MW Cleaners Black Tie Bag.

    Any regular laundry you want returned folded should be placed in the MW Wash wash/dry/fold bag.

  • What time will you come by?

    Our service hours are between 8am and 6pm.  We will arrive during this window and in the future will provide tighter window scheduling. If you have a specific time preference within that window, please e-mail Route Concierge and we will do our best to accommodate.

  • How do I give you special instructions?

    The easiest way to set permanent special instructions on your account is to e-mail our team at Route Concierge.

    For one-time special instructions, please provide them by adding a note inside your first order, to your Valet in person, or e-mail them on the day of the pickup to Route Concierge, and our team will make sure they get added to your order.

  • How do I point out stains? Do I need to point out stains?

    Cleaning is our job - and we are the best cleaner in Houston and dry cleaner in Austin.  There is no need to point out stains. We inspect your order multiple times before cleaning, so we will identify and treat any stains. If you know the source of a stain, please provide them by adding a note insider your first order or let your Valet know upon pickup or e-mail us at Route Concierge.

  • What happens after you take my clothes away?

    As soon as we receive your clothes back at our MW Cleaners processing facility, our experts get busy inventorying/detailing your order and preparing it for cleaning. You can expect a Confirmation of Pickup e-mail/text within 24 hours.

  • How will I know the total cost?

    We will not charge you until delivery, but you can login and check online to see your order details after you receive your Pickup Confirmation. You can expect to receive itemized invoices attached to your clothes upon delivery. If you have a specialty item, you can e-mail us at Route Concierge to get an exact price quote.

  • How do I pay?

Dry Cleaning 101

  • What is dry cleaning?

    Dry cleaning is a safe and effective way to clean your clothes without using water. Garments are loaded into a machine which looks and operates very similar to a front loading washing machine....only larger. 

    Garments are then cleaned with a solvent (instead of water)  which remove soils and stains. MW Cleaners solvent of choice is GreenEarth that is environmentally non-toxic. It has many uses that is in your life everyday this includes products like underarm deodorant, makeup, and lipstick.

    Although GreenEarth is more expensive to operate we believe your health is worth it. GreenEarth is good for you and the environment!!

    Yes, that's right, our process at MW Cleaners is so gentle that we could clean a Kleenex and keep it in one piece. That means your most delicate fabric can be cleaned safe and effectively.   • What is the difference between Dry Cleaning and Laundering?

    Dry Cleaning is the cleaning of fabrics with the absence of water. Laundering uses water in a commercial washing machine and is predominantly used to wash men's and women's shirts and some denim. 

  • What is wet cleaning?

    In the dry cleaning industry we see wet cleaning different than Laundering.  The difference is all about the mechanical action. Example we use to paint the picture - planning to clean a delicate garment at home and decide it would be best to do it in the sink rather than in a machine. 

    There are times MW Cleaners too will make the decision to wet clean your garment in our specialty equipment. We base that decision by looking at the type of material, your garments care instructions, and stains on the garment. Your delicate washable garments deserve better professional care than just throwing it in a washing machine on a normal cycle. 

  • What is pre-spotting?

    Because Dry Cleaning is chemically dry, and most stains are water based, MW Cleaners uses spotting agents before the garments are put in the cleaning machine.
